The men's soccer team defeated Duke, 2-0, to win the first NCAA championship in school his- tory. The Badgers posted five consecutive shutouts en route to the national title, becoming the first team since 1976 to go through the NCAA tournament without giving up a goal.
December 6, 1963 YOUNG SCORES: A rebound goal by Chan Young gave Wisconsin its first modern-era collegiate men's hockey victory, a 3-2 overtime decision over Macalaster.
