Carolina Basketball 2011-12 TYLER ZELLER block performance • Established then-career highs in points and rebounds, tied his career best in blocks and was UNC's defensive player of the game • Made 8 of 13 shots from the floor and 11 of 12 (10 in a row) from the line • Scored 18 of his 27 points in the second half • Went 10 for 10 from the line in the final 4:19 • The 27 points marked the third time in his last five games he scored 20 or more points, establishing career highs all three times • Had 20 points and 10 rebounds against Vanderbilt and 23 points in win over UNC Asheville • Made the All-Tournament Team at the Puerto Rico Tipoff Classic, averaging 15.7 points and 7.7 re- bounds in three games in San Juan. SOPHOMORE SEASON (2009-10) Was fourth on the team in scor- ing at 9.3 points per game • Caro- lina's defensive player of the game seven times, second-most on the team despite missing 10 games • Named to the Academic All-ACC Team for the second time. Averaged 8.9 points and 4.7 re- bounds in 11 games after returning from a foot injury that caused him to miss the first 10 games in ACC play • Blocked a career-high five shots and had seven rebounds in win at UAB • Scored seven points with seven rebounds in just 13 minutes in the win at Mississippi State, but caught an elbow above his right eye with 12:10 to play that sent him to the locker room with a facial laceration and a mild concus- sion • Received five stitches. Scored eight of his 13 points 16 in the second half in the win over William and Mary • Twice stole the ball near midcourt and raced in for breakaway dunks, including the game-clinching play with 48 seconds to go that gave UNC a 77- 72 lead • Recorded his first career double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds in the ACC Tourna- ment against Georgia Tech. Missed 10 ACC games before returning to action on Feb. 20 at Boston College • Had nine points, seven rebounds and two blocks against the Eagles • Had eight points and two blocks in the win at Wake Forest • Diagnosed on Jan. 14, 2010, with a stress fracture in his third metatarsal in his right foot • Tar Heels went 2-8 in his absence. FRESHMAN SEASON (2008-09) Member of the 2009 national champions • Named to All-ACC Academic Basketball Team • Made 17 of 36 shots from the floor and 13 of 17 from the free throw line • Started the first two games he played • Led Carolina with 18 points in his collegiate debut against Penn • Was the first Tar Heel since Tyler Hansbrough (in 2005-06) to lead the team in scoring in his college debut • Had two of UNC's 16 steals against Kentucky • Suffered a broken left wrist in the final minutes the Kentucky game • Underwent surgery on Nov. 19 to repair broken left radius and ulna • Was injured when he was fouled on a breakaway dunk attempt with 1:26 to play • Played in 13 games after returning from a 13-week layoff due to the wrist injury • Began practicing again on Feb. 5 • Returned to action against NC State on Feb. 18 after missing 23 contests • Had two points and three rebounds in eight minutes in his return against NC State • Scored an ACC high eight points against Georgia Tech • Grabbed a season- high eight rebounds in 13 minutes in the NCAA opener against Radford • Hit one free throw in the national title game against Michigan State. 2011 First-Team Academic All-America 2011 Skip Prosser Award Jeffrey Camarati Jeffrey Camarati
