Shymansky has earned 11 of his 301 career victories at Iowa, 117 in five seasons at Marquette, and 172 in seven seasons at Georgia Tech. He owns a 301-121 record and a .713 win percentage in 13 seasons as head coach. e Hawkeyes have the ability to stretch their Big Ten win streak to three Nov. 5 when the squad meets Indiana on Mediacom Court in Carver-Hawkeye Arena — a feat that has not happened since 1994 when the team defeated eight-straight conference opponents and earned an NCAA Championship berth. e program was also earned three conference wins in a row in 2000, on an Ohio State forfeit, followed by wins over Michigan (3-2) and Michigan State (3-2). Iowa defeated the Hoosiers twice in conference play in 2013, once at home, 3-2, and once on the road, 3-2. "Momentum is a great thing in any sport, but particularly in volleyball because the way a team feels about itself is going to have a big impact on how it competes and wins in tight moments," first-year head coach Bond Shymansky said. "We believe we are going to be in a lot of tight moments for the rest of the season with a lot of these Big Ten opponents.
