TENNIS
The University of Louisville women's tennis
team, which posted a 12-5 dual match
record, saw record success during the
2013-14 campaign. Duo Rebecca Shine
and Julia Fellerhoff advanced to the NCAA
doubles tournament, marking the first
doubles team to reach the national stage
in school history. The pair won the National
Indoor Tournament and entered the dual
season ranked No. 2 as a doubles team.
Shine, who notched her 104th career
singles win to set the school record, was
named the ITA Most Improved Senior of the
Year in the Ohio Valley region. She also was
named to the all-AAC team. Next season,
head coach Mark Beckham and his staff
welcomes the No. 16 recruiting class in the
country.

"The ACC is the best women's tennis
conference top to bottom in the country.
It's very exciting because every match
will be against a nationally ranked team.
Three to four of the top teams in ACC are
usually playing for a national championship
every year, so I don't think anything really
compares to it. We are really excited to
compete against the best teams in the
country; this is where you want to be."
