14 season made it past the opening three minutes. Ramos (33-4) earned his first All-American honor by placing third at the NCAA Tournament with an 8-3 win over Devin Carter of Virginia Tech and a fall against Chris Dardanes of Minnesota in the consolation finals. Ramos was 30-2 as a junior, losing to Ohio State's Logan Stieber in the finals of the Big Ten and NCAA championships. He won 14 matches by fall, including two to open the NCAA Tournament. As a senior, Ramos secured the two goals that had eluded him: championships in the Big Ten and NCAA. He defeated Graff in the finals of both: 2-1 at conference in Madison, Wis., and 3-1 at nationals in Oklahoma City. He won his final four matches against Graff. When the spotlight was on, Ramos was at his best. He finished 34-0 on Mediacom Mat in Carver-Hawkeye Arena, 18-4 in the NCAA Tournament, and 11-3 in the Big Ten Tournament.
