CELEBRATING A CENTURY OF INNOVATION
As Johnson & Wales University approaches its centennial in 2014,
we have much to celebrate as a university. What began as a small
secretarial school is now a higher education institution with global
reach, attracting students from more than 90 countries. Johnson
& Wales' pioneering model of experiential learning is increasingly
emulated by all spectrums of the higher education landscape,
strengthening the university's status as an exemplar for relevant,
highly effective 21st-century education.
As we move into our second century, we are making an
unprecedented investment in Johnson & Wales' future,
accelerating the university's evolution. To celebrate our roots and
the promise of an exciting new century, we are planning a series of
events for students, parents, alumni and friends of the university.
Convocation, held on September 9, kicked off our festivities.
Additional celebrations include a centennial-themed Family
Weekend, an all-class alumni reunion, a centennial-themed
student Spring Fest, an academic roundtable conference and a
centennial-themed commencement in May 2014. In addition,
centennial merchandise is available in all JWU bookstores.
Visit our centennial webpage for a calendar of events, historical
photos and a look at the key milestones and transformational
leaders over the past century that have shaped the unique
institution we are today.
