Now is time for Badgers
to put it together UW running out of time as season closes
T
ime is running out for the Badger volleyball
team. Only eight matches re- main in the regular season, and Wisconsin is still on the outside looking in at a berth to the NCAA tournament. The Badgers have strug- gled with inconsistency this season, losing four sets in ex- tra points. UW has also strug-

gled at the start of matches, falling behind early and not being able to recover. "We have to stay playing
the good, consistent ball that we know we are capable of to compete in the Big Ten," said UW head coach Pete Waite, "because anybody can beat you any day if you're not consistent."
Hickey earns Big Ten honor » Junior Annemarie Hickey earned her first Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor after tallying back-to-back 20-plus dig matches last weekend. The 5-foot-8 libero had a season-high 30 digs against Illinois on Friday and added 24 saves against Northwestern on Sunday to average 6.0 digs per set. Hickey also added 0.33 service aces and 0.67 assists per set.
Badgers on ESPN2 » Wisconsin makes its first appear- ance on an ESPN affiliate in four years when it takes on third-ranked Penn State on Sunday. UW has not made an appearance on an ESPN affiliate since losing to then-No. 1 Penn State on Oct. 24, 2008. The Badgers are 11-7 all-time in ESPN network appearances, including a 2-3 mark against the Nittany Li- ons.
