2016-17 PAC-12 YEAR IN REVIEW 2 PAC-12 YEAR IN REVIEW Our Student-Athletes: Champions on and o the field The 2016-2017 was an incredible year for the conference both in competition and outside the lines. The "Conference of Champions" maintained its national dominance with an impressive 13 NCAA Championships won by seven different Pac-12 schools over the course of the school year, bringing the Pac-12's all time total to 501 NCAA team titles, 192 more than any other conference. Pac-12 teams made appearances on all of college sports' biggest stages this year with Washington representing the conference in the College Football Playoff, Oregon earning a spot in the NCAA Men's Final Four, Stanford competing in their 13th NCAA Women's Final Four, Oregon State traveling to the College World Series in Omaha, and UCLA, Washington, and Oregon all making appearances in the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City. Individual national awards were also abundant for Pac-12 student-athletes this year. Among those countless accolades were Washington's Kelsey Plum being named unanimous national player of the year in women's basketball, three Pac-12 student-athletes earning Elite 90 awards for having the best GPAs at NCAA Championships, and a record-tying four Pac-12 men's basketball student- athletes being named AP All-Americans.
