WHEN
Joe Scarpello was the first University of Iowa wrestler to become a
four- me All-American, earning the dis nc on from 1946-50. He was
NCAA champion at 175 pounds in 1947 and 1950, finished third in
1948, and was the runner-up in 1949. Senior Cory Clark became the
19th Hawkeye to become a four- mer, capping his career with a NCAA
tle at 133 pounds last month in St. Louis.
