Wopat returned to Madison last weekend, where he performed with the Wisconsin Band at its annual spring concert. He and the Badger Band wowed the Kohl Center crowd with tunes from some of Wopat's nu- merous albums.

cals City of Angels and Guys and Dolls, and has produced numerous albums. Many people know that Wopat was a music major at Wisconsin, but what they don't know is that he rowed for the Badgers, too. Wopat was on the freshman team in 1969-70 before concentrat- ing on music full-time.
Battle for the Burnin' Blade » A trophy is on the line for the wom- en's team when it faces Border Bat- tle rival Minnesota Sunday in Min- neapolis. The Burnin' Blade Award will once again be given to the win- ner of the varsity eight race between the Badgers and Gophers. UW won the inaugural trophy
last year on Lake Mendota. Ten Badgers that hail from Minnesota will have a chance to race in their home state Sunday against the Golden Gophers.
The Border Battle matchup is the last race for the Badgers before the Big Ten championships.
