SOFTBALL
The Badgers swept Penn State last week- end, winning in con-
vincing fashion. UW outscored the Nittany Lions 21-1 over the three games, including two run-rule wins. Wisconsin's pitchers posted a 0.41 ERA and a .197 opponents' batting average on the weekend.
MEN'S BASKETBALL With a total attendance of 309,255 fans, the men's bas- ketball team outdrew 13 of
the 32 NCAA Division I conferences for the 2011-12 season. The Badgers ranked fifth in the country with an average of 17,181 fans per game and led the Big Ten in attendance for the fifth year in a row.

UW student-athletes were honored at the 2012 Buck- inghams Monday, show-
casing their talents and contributions away from the field. Musical acts and academic accomplishments highlighted the evening, including the recognizing of 281 Badgers who earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
WOMEN'S
LIGHTWEIGHT ROWING The No. 2-ranked Wisconsin varsity eight boat defeated
four top-10 teams Saturday in Boston, in- cluding No. 1 Stanford. The Badgers edged the top-ranked Cardinal by just .8 seconds, finishing the 2,000-meter course in a time of 7:24.9 with a strong headwind.
