AMUKAMARA TURNER THORNE BRUNNER CHARLI TURNER THORNE Head Coach • 19th Year at Arizona State Alma Mater: Stanford, 1988 354-213 (.624) at Arizona State • Overall: 394-253 (.609, 21 Years) The winningest coach in Sun Devil history and just six wins away from career No. 400 ... Ranks second overall in wins among all-time Pac-12 coaches with 354 wins ... One of just three coaches in Pac-12 history to have led their teams to five or more consecutive 20-win seasons ... Guided ASU to the postseason 14 of the last 15 years, including 10 NCAA Tournament appearances, advancing to the NCAA Elite Eight twice during that stretch ... Led the USA to a gold medal at the 2009 World University Games. TEAM OUTLOOK • After finishing ninth in the Pac-12 in 2012-13, the Sun Devils have bounced back to make back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances, including advancing to the Sweet Sixteen last year. Arizona State finished in a tie for second, just one game out of first place, and was just one victory shy of 30 wins, which would have been only the second 30-win season in the program's history. • ASU will challenge for the Pac-12 crown again, returning four starters from last year's team, including red- shirt senior Katie Hempen, last year's leading scorer, and senior Elisha Davis the team's point guard who averaged 4.51 assists per game which ranked third in the Pac-12. • The Sun Devils will also continue to rely on their defense, which wreaked havoc on opponents last year, limiting them to just 55.9 points per game, the best in the Conference and 21st in the country. ASU also managed to neutralize deep threats, leading the league in 3-point percentage defense (.254). • As is typical of Charli Turner Thorne teams, ASU had balanced scoring last year with three players averag- ing double digits, while two more contributed over 7.0 points per game. Junior Sophie Brunner contributed 11.9 points per game and was the team's leading rebounder at 7.6 rebounds per game. • Brunner and Hempen also had an opportunity to take their games internationally over the summer. Brunner (Pan American Games silver medal) and Hempen (World University Games gold medal) both earned medals while com- peting for USA Basketball. Also earning a medal was junior post Quinn Dornstauder (Canada), who brought back a silver medal from the World University Games playing for Canada. That experience will be valuable for ASU. 2015-16 ARIZONA STATE ROSTER DAVIS
