Bo Ryan led the Badgers to 19 wins in 2002, the most ever for a UW first-year coach. March 5, 2002 The best in the Big Ten
Head coach Bo Ryan was named Big Ten Coach of the Year, becoming the first UW coach to receive the honor. Kirk Penney was also a unanimous first-team all-league selection, just the fifth Badger since 1948 to earn unanimous first-team honors.
March 5, 2003 IN THE CLUTCH: Point guard Devin Harris hit the game-winning free throw with 0.4 seconds remaining to give Wisconsin a 60-59 win over Illinois and clinch the Badgers' first outright Big Ten title since 1947.

March 6, 1982 ON THE ATTACK: Joe Kroeten, of the men's fencing team, became the first UW fencer to win the sabre event two years in a row at the Big Ten championships.
March 8, 1997
GOING THE DISTANCE: The Badgers played in the longest collegiate men's hockey game ever — a 1-0, four-overtime loss at Colorado College in the first round of the WCHA playoffs. The game lasted 5 hours, 24 minutes. In goal, UW netminder Kirk Daubenspeck broke a 43-year WCHA mark by making 75 saves in 129:30 of ice time.
