Judy and Robert (BS '59) James, devoted friends
and supporters of The University of Tulsa, share a commitment to
ensuring that future students find opportunity in higher education.
Both enjoyed successful careers in Tulsa following their time as
students at TU; Robert in commercial real estate and investments and
most recently with his own business, The James Company; and Judy
with a long career at IBM Corporation.
In acknowledgement of the influence their respective TU experiences
have had on their lives, Robert and Judy made a substantial gift to
support scholarships for students pursuing a degree in economics from
the Collins College of Business.
As one of the first Robert and Judy James Scholars, Abe Matamoros
(BSBA '15) graduated with a full list of accomplishments both in
the classroom and as a member of the men's soccer team, and even
launched his career as an entrepreneur. Following his graduation in
May, Matamoros visited Robert and Judy to personally thank them
for the scholarship that helped make his education — and resulting
opportunities — at TU possible.
