brand news Service Saturday — Color Gives Back Each fall, representatives from Pratt & Lambert attend a color marketing conference in different cities around the country. This particular conference usually includes an "Education Saturday" — a full-day program of speakers that covers a wide variety of color, design and marketing topics built around the host city. Since this past November's conference was held in New Orleans, a city still struggling to recover from Hurricane Katrina, organizers asked attendees to do something a little different. Instead of "Education Saturday," the team participated in "Service Saturday — Color Gives Back." Partnering with the United Saints 1st Street Recovery Project, the team spent a day helping local residents. The major project involved painting the exterior of an elderly woman's home. As soon as the team arrived on-site and met Audrey, the homeowner, they were inspired to take on the project with full force. And they did. To help the team perform their best and help give Audrey the exterior she deserved, Pratt & Lambert supplied more than 50 gallons of paint and primer, as well as custom-designed T-shirts for all 48 participants. Purdy® also generously donated a large variety of rollers, brushes and poles so the job could be completed using quality tools. In the end, it was a fun and rewarding project that couldn't have been done without the help of so many giving people. Thank you to everyone involved! 32 P&L Color Expressions
