best 20-game start since going 18-0-2 in the 2008-09 season. The Badgers ended up go- ing 34-2-5 and winning the national championship year. In last year's road to the cham- pionship, UW had a very simi- lar record of 18-2-0 going into winter break.
W 50 » VARSITY DECEMBER 15, 2011
ith a 19-1-0 record, Wisconsin is off to its
expectations for season UW off to program's best 20-game start
With nine wins over top-
10 opponents, a large part of the success has come from the outstanding play of Alex Rigsby in net. Her .949 save percentage leads the nation. The player's work habit shouldn't go unnoticed either. There have been five games in which the Badgers have come from behind to claim a win.
Hilary Knight tops Duggan » It took an assist on the final goal against Bemidji State, as Hilary Knight cemented herself as the career-points leader at Wiscon- sin. Last season Meghan Duggan claimed the title, but it didn't last long as Knight posted 37 points in the first 20 games. Knight enters winter break with 239 points and the remainder of the season to put distance between her's and Dug- gan's mark.
Century mark » Brooke Ammerman only needs one more assist to become the fifth player in program history to record 100 assists. She also has the potential to become the third Badger in program history to re- cord 100 career goals, as she cur- rently sits with 81. If she reaches both plateaus, she will be the third player to do so.
