This media guide was intended to assist in the media's cover- age of Pac-12 softball. Statistical information, standings and news releases for all men's and women's sports are updated frequently. News releases for each sport are provided in PDF format and viewable HTML pages. Media guides, archived press releases and record books, as well as selected video can also be found on the Official Pac-12 website. Media should send an email to kgeithman@ pac-12.org with the subject "Media News" request- ing to be added to the media distribution list. » WEEKLY RELEASES Pac-12 Weekly Releases will be available at the Conference's official website at www.pac-12. com every Tuesay afternoon starting Feb. 3, then moving to Monday afternoons on Mar. 16 and con- tinuing through to the end of the season. Weekly releases include the Pac-12 Players of the Week, updated Conference statistics, the latest polls and conference and team notes. Updated stats will be available on www.pac-12.com following each night of competition. » PLAYERS OF THE WEEK A Pac-12 Player of the Week, Pitcher of the Week and Freshman of the Week are selected throughout the regular season from nominations submitted by each school's media relations office. Player of the Week winners are selected by a vote of Conference staff members. Winners of the weekly honor are announced on Monday mornings via news release and also posted on the Pac-12 website, on the Pac- 12 Facebook fan page and via the Pac-12 Twitter feed. » PAC-12 CHAMPION The team with the highest won-lost percentage during Conference play shall be the Conference champion and shall represent the Conference in the NCAA Division I Softball Championship. If that percentage is shared by more than one team, a co-championship shall exist. The Pac-12 season is nine weeks and each team plays a three-game series against every other team. » PAC-12 AWARDS & HONORS The Pac-12 names a 20-member All-Pac-12 team, a nine-player All-Defensive Team, a 14-play- er All-Freshman Team, a Player of the Year, Pitcher of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, and Coach of the Year. The award win- ners are nominated and voted upon by the Pac- 12 head coaches. The Pac-12 also recognizes a Batting Champion, which is awarded to the player with the highest batting average through the regular season. The honorees will be announced in a press release at the end of the regular season.
