BREAKING DOWN THE OFFENSE "What's different from before?" Bostad posed. "I'm at a point right now where I say we've got a long ways to go as a unit." "I'm at a point right now where I say we've got a long ways to go as a unit," Bostad said. But there have been many positive signs. Josh Oglesby, who has dealt with six knee surgeries during his football career, has taken over at right offensive tackle. "He's shown he's tightened up his game quite a bit," Bostad said. "When he started out, you could tell — I don't want to use the word hobbled — but you could tell that he was working through it." Asked about the competition be- tween Oglseby and Rob Havenstein, Bostad said, "Honestly, to me, it's hard to say there has been much of a compe- tition. Rob missed a lot of camp." An injury put him in a competitive hole. "I'm not giving anything to anybody and everybody knows that," Bostad said. "Rob set himself back when he got injured and missed a lot of reps. It's just going to take longer (to develop him)." Ricky Wagner, meanwhile, has been a fixture at left tackle, replacing Carimi. "He finally realizes that he has to be the guy and he's taken on the respon- sibility," Bostad said of Wagner, who started at right tackle last year. "I think he feels a lot more comfortable." Casey Dehn, who has one career start, would be the third tackle, if healthy. He rolled his ankle. JOSH OGLESBY »» RT POSITION BY POSITION » Wide Receivers ▪ Nick Toon can be a huge force in the middle of the field with his size and route- running. ▪ Can't imagine where the Badgers would be without Jared Abbrederis »», a great catch. ▪ Jeff Duckworth and Kenzel Doe have to show more consistency to earn more reps and trust. » Tight Ends ▪ Jacob Pedersen has been as consistent as anyone in run- ning the seams and catching the ball. ▪ Jake Byrne »» gives the Badgers a 260-pound body at the point of attack. ▪ If Brian Wozniak can avoid injuries, he will have an impact on this position group. ▪ Staying healthy is also the key for Sherard Cadogan; another big body who can catch. — Mike Lucas
