SECOND TO ONE
APRIL 19, 1944: Chosen second overall by the Chicago Cardinals, Pat Harder be-
came the Badgers' highest-ever selection in the NFL draft, a mark that still stands.
GOING TO MIAMI
APRIL 26, 1992: Troy Vincent was selected in the first round of the 1992 NFL Draft
by the Miami Dolphins, going seventh overall. He was the Badgers' first first-round
pick since OL Paul Gruber was taken by Tampa Bay in 1988.
NO ORDINARY JOE
APRIL 28, 2007: Selected No. 3 overall in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft, OT
Joe Thomas became the Badgers' highest draft pick since Heisman Trophy winner
Alan Ameche was picked third in 1955.
THREE FOR THE SHOW
APRIL 30, 1985: Wisconsin had a school-record three players selected in the first round
of the NFL draft, with Al Toon (10th) going to the New York Jets, Richard Johnson (11th) to
Houston, and Darryl Sims (20th) to Pittsburgh.
