TOP OF THE CONFERENCE
FEBRUARY 27, 2000: Wisconsin captured its 15th indoor Big Ten championship title
with a championship-record 150 points. The 67.5-point margin of victory is also a
conference record as the UW crowned six Big Ten champions. Sophomore Michael
Bennett was named Big Ten Athlete of the Championship and Ed Nuttycombe was
named Coach of the Year.
LEAGUE HONORS
MARCH 5, 2002: Head coach Bo Ryan was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year, be-
coming the first UW coach to receive the honor. Kirk Penney was also a unanimous
first-team all-league selection, just the fifth Badger since 1948 to earn unanimous
first-team honors.
BIG TEN'S BEST
MARCH 5, 2006: Tom Clum wins his second Big Ten title at the 2006 Big Ten Wres-
tling Championships. After winning the title at 125 lbs. in 2004, Clum needed three
overtime periods to defeat Minnesota's Mack Reiter and win the title at 133 lbs.
SECURING A TITLE
MARCH 5, 2003: Point guard Devin Harris hit the game-winning free throw with 0.4 seconds
remaining to give Wisconsin a 60-59 win over Illinois and its first outright Big Ten title since
1947.
