Vital to our success, of course, are faculty and staff. The college's faculty, whose dedication to providing the highest quality education possible is underscored by their continual search for ways to improve existing programs while creating new ones. Our exceptional staff provides outstanding support for all busi - ness students — from advising and enrolling to career placement. Finally, and most importantly, the college's growth and success are undergirded by the extraordinary support of the corporate community and our alumni. Our students have received tremen - dous scholarship support from the university, corporations and other donors. As a result, the scholarships that Collins College of Business students receive are highly competitive with those offered by other universities. Last year, Bloomberg Businessweek named the Collins College of Business #1 in financial aid among all top business schools. For all that we are, we thank our loyal alumni and friends. Without your generosity, our college's rapid growth would not be possible. Your support ensures our graduates an exceptional educational experience from which to launch their careers. Sincerely, A. Gale Sullenberger Dean, Collins College of Business Sincerely, Brad Stoots (BS '81) Tulsa Managing Partner, Grant Thornton Chair, Collins College of Business Executive Advisory Board Growth and Innovation in the Collins College of Business Innovative curricula, high national rankings and the unwav- ering support of alumni and the corporate community have spurred unprecedented growth in the Collins College of Business. Our introduction of new energy-related programs on the undergraduate and graduate levels has attracted more than 200 high-quality students. The Energy Management program, which was our first such effort, has been directed by Ted Jacobs since fall 2006. Energy Management has been tremendously successful placing graduates with energy companies and recruiting high-achieving students. In 2010, the faculty approved a minor in energy, which has also been popular among students and employers. Tim Coburn, professor of energy and operations manage - ment, joined our faculty in August 2011 and was tasked with establishing an online Master of Energy Business program. The MEB launched in fall 2012 and has been an overwhelming success, with more than 100 students enrolled. We also have seen a significant rapid growth of the overall business student body. More than 1,100 undergraduate and 250 graduate students make the Collins College of Business the second largest college at TU. We attribute this growth to several factors: • the addition of new programs, particularly the MEB, the Master of Accountancy and the MS in Finance • the burgeoning undergraduate finance program (more than 200 students) • the significant increase in the number of international students • the high placement rates for our graduates, and • the high national rankings the college has earned from both Bloomberg Businessweek and U.S. News and World Report during the last three years. Our Studio Blue has received much attention, attracting students from across campus and several disciplines to participate in creative projects that help Tulsa-area nonprofit organizations as well as corporations. Multiple national rankings list Collins as one of the top business schools in the country, and I'm excited about where this momentum will lead the college in 2014. Last May, the "Best Undergraduate B-Schools" list compiled by Bloomberg Businessweek named our manage - ment information systems and accounting programs No. 3 and No. 6 in the country, respectively. These rankings are based on variables such as career and graduate degree preparation and reflect the compassion TU faculty members have for helping each student achieve his or her educational and professional goals. Our degree programs allow students to acquire critical skills in the classroom as well as through valuable internships, equipping them as they migrate seamlessly from the world of academia to industry. For those students who choose to earn a graduate degree, the prospect of finding a successful and satisfying career also is well within reach. Our MBA program boasts a 100 percent job placement rate and undoubtedly, it contributed to the college's recent recognition as one of the top 100 graduate business schools in the nation, according to 2014 rankings compiled by U.S. News and World Report. It's an exciting time to be a part of the Collins College of Business, and it's been a pleasure to serve as chair of the executive advisory board for the past two years. We're seeing consistent growth in enrollment throughout the college; and as an alumnus, I'm proud to watch my alma mater emerge as one of the premiere business schools in the nation. Best wishes as we welcome another year of opportunity and excellence.
