52 // VARSITY January 30, 2014 INSIDE WOMEN'S HOCKEY UW ready to Fill the Bowl on Feb. 15 vs Minnesota Badgers look to break their NCAA attendance record BY AJ HARRISON @BADGERWHOCKEY W ith February right around the corner, there's less than three weeks until the fourth Fill the Bowl game on Feb. 15, which pits the No. 2 Badgers against No. 1 Minnesota in a 7 p.m. clash at the Kohl Center. Many players are looking forward to the team's lone game in the Kohl Center as Wisconsin looks to set the NCAA single-game attendance record against not only one of the top teams in the nation, but one of Wisconsin's biggest rivals. "There's definitely a rivalry between us and Minnesota, so its easy to get pumped up and excited to play each other," freshman Sarah Nurse said. "We love playing at home and look forward playing in the Kohl Center in front of thousands of fans. "Hopefully we break the attendance re- cord, which would feel incredible!" Wisconsin had an NCAA-record 12,402 fans attend the last Fill the Bowl game, which was a 1-0 win over Bemidji State in 2012. Tickets for this year's game are only $1, and UW students will receive free admission with a student ID. Junior Brittany Ammerman has ap- peared in two Fill the Bowl games, in- cluding the 2011 game which saw UW defeat Minnesota, 3-1. "I think it will be great experience playing the Gophers in the Fill the Bowl game," Ammerman said. "The games will be high-tempo and will most likely be the most meaningful games we'll have played this year. It will be exciting and it is always a healthy and fun rivalry with the Gophers."
