finalists for his work.
A few years later, Andrew Joudrey was
similarly recognized as a finalist for the
same award because of his work with the
hospital.
It has become an annual tradition for
the team since then during the second
semester. Groups of the players visit once
a week to share a little time and spread
cheer to others, but the Badgers get as
much out of the visits as anyone.
Hospital for good reason
Men's hockey has been making weekly visits to
children's hospital for more than10 years
ockey is a physical
game, with studentathletes occassionaly
making trips to the local hospital because of an injury or a
surgery.
Beginning in January, the
men's hockey team will take
its turn at the American Family Children's Hospital, but
for a much better reason. For

more than 10 years, the Badgers have been making visits,
dating back to the time UW
defenseman Dan Boeser was
fighting his own cancer battle
in 2002.
Boeser helped organize his
teammates' visits to the hospital to meet with some of the
young friends he made and
was eventually recognized
