In game number three, the
Badgers will face perhaps their
toughest challenge yet, taking
on in-state rival Green Bay, on
the Phoenix's home court.
Wisconsin owns a sparkling 18-1 record against their
northern brethren. However,
the lone loss in the series came
in UW's last trip to Green Bay,
an 88-84 overtime loss in
2009. You'll remember that
game fell just days after UW knocked off
No. 6 Duke at the Kohl Center.
In addition to a hostile environment at
the 9,700-seat Resch Center, the Badgers
will face a Green Bay squad that returns
four starters from a year ago and is the
Horizon League preseason favorite.
"We know we're going to get Green
Bay's best shot," junior Josh Gasser said.
"They've got a lot of talent and experience and they'll be hungry to prove
something against us."
The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m.
(CT) tip-off and will be televised in the
Green Bay market on Time Warner Cable
SportChannel and in Madison on WISCTV. The intrastate battle will also be
streamed live on ESPN3.com or the WatchESPN mobile app.
BADGERS ADD ONE FOR CLASS OF 2014
● The Badgers announced on Wednesday that high school senior Ethan
Happ (Taylor Ridge, Ill.) had signed his
national letter of intent to play at Wisconsin beginning in the fall of 2014.
An AP first-team all-state selection
as a junior, the 6-foot-8 forward averaged a double-double last season
at Rockridge High School, posting 23
points and 10 rebounds per game.
