The Wildcats will rely on the senior leadership of F Erica Barnes, F Alli Gloyd, G/F Kama Griffits and G Carissa Crutchfield in 2013-14 as they look to improve on a 10th-place Pac-12 finish from a year ago. • Griffits and Gloyd emerged as offensive threats in 2012-13 as the Wildcats' second- and third-leading scorers at 10.9 ppg and 9.4 ppg, respectively. Second on the team in threes made, Griffits became a reliable target from the arc while Gloyd, in her first year with the Wildcats after transferring from a community college, was second on the team in field goals made and field goal percentage. Barnes has been a mainstay in the lineup over the last three years and Crutchfield, who will be a second-year starter in 13-14, dished out 2.8 assists per game behind the departed Whyte. • The return of Candice Warthen after missing all of 2012-13 with a knee injury bodes well for Arizona. She was the Wildcats' second-leading scorer two years ago (11.7 ppg) and was a key three-point threat. Warthen should boost a long-range attack that ranked fourth in the Pac-12 last year in both three-pointers made and three-point percentage. In addition, a healthy Warthen should be a nice complement to the four experienced returning starters. • Arizona has seven total letterwinners coming back while they welcoming four freshmen newcomers, two of which were McDonald's All-American nominees as high school seniors last year.
