Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) T he mission of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee is to strive to enhance the total student-athlete experience by promoting opportunity, protecting student-athlete welfare and fostering a positive student-athlete image. SAAC provides a link of communication between UW student-athletes and the athletic department administration on relevant issues pertaining to studentathlete well-being. Additionally, SAAC organizes events to network, serve, and develop with each other, the greater UW-Madison campus and the Madison community. SAAC also discusses and provides feedback to the Big Ten Conference SAAC and the NCAA Division I SAAC on important issues that directly affect the student-athlete experience on the conference and national level. Student-Athletes Equally Supporting Others (SAESO) S AESO is a registered studentathlete organization that strives to bring together student-athletes of different cultures, ethnicities, lifestyles, and belief systems to enhance their experience on the UW campus. SAESO-hosted events include Games Night, Study Jam, Muir Elementary mentoring, University Wellness Foundation after-school programs, Diversity Dialogues and Soul Food Night. Diversity Events Academic Athletic Mentor Partnership A mentor program which connects first year studentathletes of color with community members, former student-athletes and UW faculty and staff members. The program assists with the transition from high school to college and increases the quality of the experience on campus for student-athletes. Diversity Barbeque Held annually during the summer, the barbeque provides UW student-athletes an opportunity to network with coaches, UW faculty and staff, and Madison community members. The event allows student-athletes to build relationships with a diverse group of individuals. Graduation Reception
