Badgers Give Back I n September 2012, Wisconsin Athletics unveiled "Badgers Give Back," a new community relations platform meant to increase publicity of student-athlete outreach efforts, streamline the request process for student-athlete appearances and inkind donations and further ensure compliance with NCAA regulations. The consolidation of UW's service and outreach efforts under the "Badgers Give Back" umbrella was an unquestioned success: 263% Increase in student-athlete appearances over last year 79% Increase in hours volunteered by UW student-athletes over 2011-12 4,185 Hours volunteered by UW student-athletes 145 Community appearances made during the 2012-13 academic year 34 Visits to American Family Children's Hospital by UW student-athletes 3,611 Families fed by food collected through the fifth-annual Red & White Hunger Fight The annual holiday toy drive organized by UW student-athletes resulted in donations of 189 toys and $1,342 for Toys for Tots In fi 11
