Chairman's MESSAGE In this, our 2013 Environment Report, we chronicle our 6-year "greening the bank" effort. You will read about our successes and our continuing challenges. We hope you'll be able to learn from our experiences and find new inspiration to help move your own green effort forward. Our community highlight this year is Snowmass Village. The people of that town take special pride in their beautiful surroundings by organizing the annual town cleanup. This year marked their 32nd annual. We are happy to have played a small part in the town's unique character over 30 years ago when we renovated and saved the historic Hoagland barn to be our new bank location. We also showcase how several of our employees choose to donate their time and talent toward environmental causes. Volunteerism is paramount to our corporate culture and we are proud of them. Thanks for your interest and support of Alpine Bank. Please let us know how we can work together to further green our business and community in the future. Sincerely, J. Robert Young, Chairman Our Environmental POLICY Alpine Bank is committed to the needs of our customers, employees, shareholders, and communities. We believe that our long-term health and success is directly linked to the health and quality of the natural environment. We endeavor to continuously improve our environmental performance, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and prevent pollution by adopting and promoting: Renewable Resources • Resource Efficient Products, Services and Practices • Community Outreach, Awareness, and Education Through our actions, we aim to influence and improve the quality of life in the communities we serve. Periodic internal audits and management reviews of our environmental objectives and targets help to assure that our actions are consistent with our policies, and compliant with all applicable environmental regulations. Finally, we communicate our environmental policy and actions with our communities, and we welcome their participation. 1
