Led by first-team All-American and Big Ten Player of the Year Debbie Bilbao, the
University of Iowa softball team went 52-9 and a perfect 22-0 in Big Ten play en
route to the 1997 Big Ten title and an appearance in the Women's College World
Series. Playing a conference-only schedule in 2021, Iowa broke the program's
single-season Big Ten wins record when it swept a doubleheader from Nebraska on
May 9, giving the team 23 Big Ten victories. Iowa is 23-17 overall.
