O R E G O N S T A T E 2 0 2 0 B A S E B A L L M E D I A G U I D E 18 Mitch Canham DI Career Record: First Year Record at Oregon State: First Year • Tw o - t i m e N a t i o n a l Champion Mitch Canham was named the 21st head coach in Oregon State baseball's history on June 13, 2019. • Returns to OSU after serving three-and-a-half seasons as a manager in the Seattle Mariners' organization, including leading the Double-A Arkansas Travelers to a North Division First-Half Title, just four days before becoming Oregon State's head coach. • Canham posted a .545 winning percentage at the professional level, going 260-220. He tallied winning seasons in three of the nearly four seasons, including 86 wins at Single-A Clinton in 2016. • Named California League Manager of the Year in 2017 after leading the Modesto Nuts to its !rst league title since 2004. • Named an All-American in 2007, Canham lettered three years for the Beavers (2005-07) and guided Oregon State to three trips to Omaha, culminating in National Championships in 2006 and 2007. • The Washington native was selected in the !rst round, 57th overall, by the San Diego Padres in the 2007 MLB First-Year Player Draft, then the sixth !rst-round selection in Oregon State history.
