31 SEASON HIGHLIGHTS • Aer the completion of both the men's and women's Big Ten Championships, the Hawkeyes boasted six NCAA qualifiers — Anze Fers Erzen, Daniel Swanepoel, Mohamed Neuman, Hannah Burvill, Kelsey Drake, and Sam Tamborski. In the process, Iowa broke 12 school records: seven by the women, five by the men. • e Iowa men were ranked 20th in the final CSCAA Dual Meet rankings. e men posted their highest placing at the Big Ten Championships since 2012 (sixth). e Iowa women finished10th in the Big Ten with 430 points overall, the most points for the program since the format changed to 24-place scoring in 2014. • Over the course of the regular season, Iowa tallied 11 Big Ten weekly honorees. ALL-AMERICANS All six qualifiers were tabbed as College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) All-Americans. e Hawkeyes earned All-America distinction in seven events: Anze Fers Erzen (200 back), Mohamed Neuman (3-meter, platform), Daniel Swanepoel (200 breast), Hannah Burvill (200 free), Kelsey Drake (200 fly), Sam Tamborski (3-meter). SCHOOL RECORDS • Sophomore Anze Fers Erzen was a force for the Hawkeyes, collecting school records in the 200 back (1:41.24), 200 IM (1:46.14), and 400 IM (3:45.76). • Junior Daniel Swanepoel notched his first school record in the 200 breast (1:53.53), overtaking assistant coach Roman Trussov's previous record of 1:54.57. • e 800-free relay team of Aleksey Tarasenko, Mateusz Arndt, Michael Tenney, Andrew Fierke touched in 6:20.84 for Iowa's sole relay record of the season. • e Iowa women set seven school records throughout the season, beginning with Hannah Burvill's 50 free record of 22.54 at the Minnesota Invitational on Dec. 5. Burvill also secured a record in the 100 free (48.65). • Freshman Millie Sansome established records in the 100 back (53.21), 200 back (1:54.86), • Junior Kelsey Drake broke her record in the 200 fly in 1:55.89. • Sansome and Burvill combined for two more records on the 800-free relay and 400-medley relays. Accompanied by freshman Macy Rink and senior Allyssa Fluit, the 800-free relay touched in 7:04.70. • Sansome, Burvill, and Drake were joined by freshman Aleksandra Olesiak in the 400-medley relay for a time of 3:36.18 at the Big Ten Championships. A CAREER TO REMEMBER Senior Hannah Burvill capped her Hawkeye career with an All-America honor in 2020. e three-time NCAA qualifier departs Iowa City with seven school records and ranks in the top three in three other events. Burvill is a record-holder in the 50 free (22.54), 100 free (48.65), and 200 free (1:44.42) and as part of the 400-free (3:18.83) and 800-free (7:04.70) relays and the 200-medley (1:38.99) and 400-medley (3:36.18) relays. Burvill is also second all-time in the 100 back (53.27) and as part of the 200-free relay (1:31.09) and third in the 200 back (1:56.56). RECORD ENTRIES • In championships form, 28 entries into the men's all-time record book occurred between Feb. 7-29. For the women, 23 entries were recorded. Of those entries, 11 freshmen etched their names into history.
