As I reflect back on the last 47 years, it is particularly heartwarming to note that our original organizers are all still with us. The board members, officers and employees that we have since added also show a high level of loyalty and have strongly embraced the Alpine culture. Although I have said it many times previously, banking to me is still rewarding, energizing, and most of all, it is fun! To facilitate our continued growth, we are constantly on the lookout for employees who likewise share our passion and vision to be the premier Colorado community bank. These employees, management trainees and officers will be our leaders in the years ahead. Our culture of community partnership and involvement, and continued success in the marketplace, has permitted us to keep and nurture an outstanding team. In compiling stories for this book, we reached out to many seasoned Alpine Bank employees to explain what drew them to work for us and what keeps them here. Not surprisingly, their stories of compassion, integrity, loyalty, independence and community closely echo our own corporate commitment. We have remained steadfast in our resolve to give back to our respective communities. We learned many years ago that the success of the bank is a reflection of the well-being of the communities we serve. Thus, the selfless dedication of our employees to their local charities, schools, churches and nonprofit organizations is not only one of our fundamental corporate values, it plays a huge role in our achievement and growth. We are proud of the role we have played over the past 45 years and hope to continue to support and serve you and your families for many more years to come. Bob Young | Glenwood Springs Chairman Employee Owner since 1973
