2019 VHSL FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS 70 V I R G I N I A H I G H S C H O O L L E A G U E 70 Virginia High School Hall of Fame Class of 2018 Nothing but the best The 29th Virginia High School Hall of Fame Class features eight inductees bringing total membership to 285. T he Virginia High School Hall of Fame, sponsored by the Virginia High School League (VHSL), welcomed its 10 newest members who have made outstanding contribu7ons to high school athle7c and ac7vity programs. The Class of 2019 included: five athletes (Billy Baber – Western Albe- marle, Natalie Baird Etheridge – Park View-Sterling, Kenny Easley – Oscar Smith, Larry Stepney – Norview, Rebecca Wakefield-Snider – Woodbridge), three coaches (Jeffrey Custer – Chris7ansburg/Woodbridge/Gar-Field/Lake Braddock), Bill Dee – Southampton/ Phoebus/Oscar Smith, Lou Sorren7no – George Mason/Culpeper County/C.D. Hylton/Mountain View), and two contributors (Nancy Burke –George C. Marshall/South Lakes, Ernie Hicks – Richlands). The Hall is dedicated to preserving the rich heritage of outstanding achieve- ments by students and adults in sports and ac7vi7es within Virginia's public high schools. Athletes are eligible for considera7on 10 years a'er comple7on of their high school careers and are judged primarily for their achievements in interscholas7c sports. Coaches are eligible a'er 15 years of experience or upon re7rement and are judged on the merits of their achievements at the high school level. Contrib- utors are professionals who have rendered significant services in some other ca- pacity such as administra7on, academic ac7vi7es, officia7ng, media or sports medicine.
