THIS WEEK IN BADGER HISTORY Skille finished his freshman campaign with 13 goals and eight assists for 21 points. March 26, 2006 Serious skills Freshman Jack Skille one-timed a no-look pass from sophomore Josh Engel to end 111:13 of scoreless hockey and give the Badgers a 1-0 victory over Cornell at the 2006 NCAA Midwest Regional Final at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wis. March 25, 2000 FINAL FOUR: The Badgers advanced to the Final Four after defeating No. 4 seed LSU and No. 6 seed Purdue in Albuquerque, N.M. Upon their return to Madison on March 25, the Badgers were greeted by 20,000 fans at a pep rally in Camp Randall Stadium. ALSO THIS WEEK March 22, 2009 NCAA CHAMPS: Women's hockey team won its third national championship in just four years after shutting out Mercyhurst 5-0. Senior goalie Jessie Vetter finished her career with an NCAA-record four Frozen Four shutouts. March 23, 2001 PERFECTION: Softball's Andrea Kirchberg became the first Badger to throw a perfect game, recording 13 strikeouts in a 9-0 win over Southeast Missouri State. 58 ยป VARSITY MAR CH 21, 2013
