Could it be a fourth? Washington State put up a school-record 11 wins, capped by a win at the Alamo Bowl last season. However, like its cross-state rival, the Cougars will need to find a replacement at quarterback after Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year Gardner Minshew II threw for a Pac-12 single- season 4,779 yards and 38 TD. Whoever gets the starting nod to run coach Mike Leach's offense will have the benefit to work behind an experienced offensive line and a plethora of capable receivers at his disposal - WR Tay Martin (69 rec/685 yards/8 TDs), WR Easop Winston (52 rec/654 yards/8 TDs), RB Max Borghi (53 rec/374 yards/4 TDs) and WR Jamire Calvin (42 rec/497 yards/1 TD) are just a few of the down field targets. Borghi was also productive on the ground with 366 yards/5.1 yards per carry and 8 TDs. • The Cougar defense led the Pac-12 in sacks last season with 38 and should continue to pressure opposing quarterbacks with a solid defensive front led by junior DE Will Rodgers III (4.0 sacks), transfer NT Lamonte McDougle, and redshirt junior LB Jahad Woods (82 tackles, 3.0 sacks). A pair of starters return in the Cougar secondary with senior CB Marcus Strong (41 tackles/3 INT) and junior FS Sklyer Thomas (76 tackles/2 INT). The Cougars have won 26 Pac-12 games over the last four years. Only Stanford (27) has won more during that span. 2019 SCHEDULE (6 home, 5 away, 1 neutral) Aug. 31 ........
