25 T he University of Iowa women's golf team concluded its 2018-19 season in Maineville, Ohio, at the Big Ten Women's Golf Championships. Freshman Manuela Lizarazu led the Hawkeyes, tying for 42nd. Lizarazu has led the Hawkeye leaderboard through six different tournaments during the season. Lizarazu broke two career-best scores this spring. On Feb. 25, she recorded a then personal-best, 54-hole score of 218 (+2) at the Westbrook Spring Invitational in Peoria, Arizona. In April, Lizarazu recorded a new personal-best, three-round score of 214 (-2) at the Bruzzy Challenge in Dallas. Lizarazu tied for eighth, earning her second top-10 finish of the season. Her other top-10 finish was at the Diane omason Invitational on Sept. 29-30, when she finished third. "My goal is to grow in the offseason and improve my confidence. e Big Ten Championships wasn't my best tournament, but I still managed to improve, despite the harsh weather conditions," said Lizarazu. Lizarazu made her mark on the Hawkeye lineup during the Battle at the Beach on Nov. 2-4 in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. She shot 70-74-75 through three rounds, to lead Iowa and tying for 19th. Lizarazu wasn't the only freshman in the Hawkeye lineup. Dana Lerner, a Caesarea, Israel, native, appeared in the Hawkeye lineup in nine of 11 tournaments. Lerner paced the Hawkeyes through the first round of the Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational in Mexico on March 21-23. Lerner notched three birdies on the back nine, finishing the first round in 16th. Seniors Shawn Rennegarbe and Kristin Glesne wrapped up their final season as Hawkeyes at the Big Ten Golf Championships. Rennegarbe and Glesne finished with 54-hole scores of 157 (+13) and 156 (+12), respectively. Glesne carded a personal-best, 18-hole score at Iowa during the 2019 Hawkeye-El Tigre Invitational on March 23. She finished the third round 68 (-4), tying for 26th overall. Glesne notched a career-best finish at the 2018 Diane omason Invitation aer carding a three-round score of 226 (+10), finishing fourth. "is team has been so amazing and I couldn't ask for a better group of people to spend my senior year with," said Glesne. "I felt like we grew as a family while we were in Puerto Vallarta during spring break." Rennegarbe posted a strong senior campaign for the Hawkeyes during the fall season. Rennegarbe earned co-medalist honors at the Diane omason Invitational with a 54-hole score of 221 (+5). Rennegarbe claimed the top individual finish in two of the five fall events. She also led the Hawkeyes in the fall with a 75.8 stroke average. e Hawkeyes look toward the offseason as they grow and improve upon their 2018-19 campaign.
