Message from the Dean You've probably had days when you wanted to stay the course rather than strike off in a new direction. I know I have. Thoughtful change can be a struggle, especially if it involves building consensus among people with diverse viewpoints. Without engaging in these challenges, however, there often cannot be meaningful progress. Fortunately, at the Collins College of Business, we are gifted with an exceptional faculty and staff who have demonstrated year after year their passion for progress and willingness to embrace change. Whether it was dealing graciously with the sometimes inconvenient side effects of our physical progress or contributing to the formation of a new academic track, we can be proud of our teamwork and flexibility. As a business school, we are continually adapting to meet industry needs. One good example is our Master of Energy Business degree that debuted this fall. Research has shown that many early and mid-career professionals in the energy industry require advanced business education and training in order to move into management positions. After building and announcing our MEB program, demand was so strong we had to expand our enrollment capacity. Enrollment at the undergraduate level continues to rise as well. Much of this growth is attributed to our national ranking among the top 50 business schools for academics and financial support for students. It's important to note, however, what's behind these rankings: the quality of teaching by our professors. As evidenced by the notable achievements reported in the pages of this magazine, great things are happening each day with our students inside our classrooms as well as in the community. We can all take pride in the enhancements of our programs and the accolades we are receiving from the business world. It didn't happen overnight. Our current success is the result of years of strategic planning, hard work and determination, and we could not have accomplished it without our friends, alumni and partners. Thank you for your help in strengthening our university, our community and our economy. A.
