Our Student-Athletes: Champions on and o the field
The 2017-2018 was an outstanding year for the Conference both in competition and outside the lines. The "Conference of Champions"
maintained its national dominance with an impressive 12 NCAA Championships won by six different Pac-12 schools over the course of
the school year, bringing the Pac-12's all time total to 513 NCAA team titles, 203 more than any other conference.
Pac-12 teams made appearances on college sports' biggest stages this year with USC and Washington representing the conference in
the College Football Playoff. Oregon State capped the year with an exciting NCAA College World Series victory, winning six-consecutive
elimination games to claim the trophy, while UCLA women's gymnastics also had a thrilling come-from-behind win, sticking a Perfect 10
on the !nal routine of the event, to win its seventh all-time NCAA crown.
The successes of Pac-12 institutions throughout the academic year was most evident in the Lear!eld Sports Directors' Cup where
Stanford captured its 24th-consecutive title, while UCLA and USC also placed seventh and fourth in the !nal standings. Six different
instutions won NCAA titles in 12 different sports and nine Pac-12 league members combined to post 39 top-four !nishes in 24 NCAA
championships.
