e inherits in Madison, the consensus is that Gary Andersen
will fit right in as the head coach at Wisconsin

��� Mike Taylor, Chris Borland
and Ethan Armstrong ��� were
among the first to greet new
head coach Gary Andersen late
Wednesday afternoon.
They waited outside of athletic director Barry
Alvarez���s office for a chance to meet Andersen, the
former Utah State coach. Andersen was getting a
quick tour of Kellner Hall and Camp Randall Stadium.
���And we just wanted to say hello,������ Borland said.
But it went beyond Midwest hospitality; or even
curiosity in the hire.
Borland has become a favorite in the Andersen
household.
���It goes back to the summer,������ Andersen said. ���I
told my son (Chasen), ���He���s not the tallest linebacker in the world. But watch this guy, and you���ll
see someone special.���������
Alluding to Taylor, Borland and Armstrong ���
the three leading tacklers on the UW defense ���
Andersen said, ���All three of those kids are as good
as you���ll see.������
Andersen will get to see a lot more of Borland
and Armstrong when he takes over the team following Wisconsin���s appearance against Stanford
in the Rose Bowl. Taylor is the lone senior in the
trio.
���I���m excited,������ said Borland, a junior from Kettering, Ohio. ���I���ve heard a lot of good things about
him. Obviously, we played them this year and they
were coached-up.
���I���m anxious to see what he can do with our
guys.������
On Sept. 15, the Badgers slipped past Utah State,
16-14.
���They had a great offensive scheme,������ Borland
said. ���Their guys weren���t the best athletes we
faced all year, but they were always in the right
