Cut heating bills by more than $150. Take control of wintertime heating costs now, before the snow starts flying and the temperatures start diving. Here are some simple tips: 1. Caulk your windows and openings. Save up to $150 in just one heating season by caulking where the window casing and/or frame meets the wall. 2. Install outlet insulators. Unscrew the plate cover and place in the foam gasket. Also place childproof safety caps into all unused plugs. 3. Program your clock-programmable thermostat. Set back your thermostat by 10 degrees for 8 hours a day, like while at work or sleeping.
