(Fleming Gymnasium) Liberty 61, UNC Greensboro 46 → Liberty scored the game's first six points and never trailed in its sixth season-opening victory in the last eight years. → Reagan Miller, the first Liberty freshman to start the season opener at point guard since Sarah Wilkerson in 1996-97, tallied 17 points in her collegiate debut. → In an uncommon reserve role, Devon Brown paced all players with 20 points, including 14 in the second half. Game 2 Nov. 15, 2011 Lynchburg, Va. (Vines Center) VCU 52, Liberty 47 → VCU led by 17 points (33-16) with 15:12 remaining in the game, before Liberty got as close as three points down. → Devon Brown led the Lady Flames' comeback effort in their home opener, with 15 of her 17 points coming after halftime. → Andrea Barbour paced the Rams, scoring 15 of her game-high 18 points during the final 20 minutes. Game 3 Nov. 18, 2011 Greensboro, N.C. (Corbett Sports Center) North Carolina A&T 81, Liberty 74 → For the second straight game, Liberty made a major second-half comeback that fell short. The Lady Flames trimmed a 12-point deficit to one before losing to North Carolina A&T for the first time since Feb. 15, 1996. → The Aggies shot 52.9 percent (9-of-17) from three-point range, while improving to 39-4 at home since the start of the 2007-08 season. → Avery Warley made all eight of her field goals, while scoring a teamhigh 18 points for the Lady Flames. Game 4 Nov. 22, 2011 Lynchburg, Va. (Vines Center) Liberty 82, Virginia-Wise 39 → Liberty raced out to a 15-2 lead in its first meeting with Virginia-Wise since Nov. 28, 1994 and cruised to its first home victory of the year. → Defense was the story, as the Lady Flames came up with 20 steals for the first time since Feb. 26, 2000. → Five Liberty players scored between 11 and 13 points, topped by Danika Dale's 13 markers. Game 5 Nov. 25, 2011 Nashville, Tenn. (Memorial Gymnasium) No. 12/14 Oklahoma 76, Liberty 45 → Nationally-ranked Oklahoma advanced to the title game of the Vanderbilt Thanksgiving Tournament after converting 37 Liberty turnovers into 38 points. → Liberty was within six at 26-20 before the Sooners closed the first half on an 11-2 run to break things open. → Terika Lunsford played one of her best games of the season for Liberty, scoring a team-high nine points and pulling down a career-high 10 rebounds.
