ILLINOIS STATE UNIVERSITY ILLINOIS STATE UNIVERSITY STUDENT PROFILE • The fall 2011 enrollment was 21,080 including 18,535 undergraduate students and 2,545 graduate students. • 56.1 percent of students are women, and 43.9 percent are men. • Of the students admitted for the 2011-12 academic year, the average ACT score of 23.9. • The incoming minority students accounted for 14.7% of new students. • 85.1 percent of fall 2010 new beginning students persisted to their second year FACULTY, CLASS SIZE • Of the Illinois State's 1,205 faculty members, 69 percent hold the highest degrees in their fi elds. • Ninety-three percent of undergraduate credit hours are taught by faculty members; the remainder are taught by graduate assistants. • At least 74 percent of all classes have 29 or fewer students; 87 percent have 39 or fewer; and 90 percent have 49 or fewer. • The student-faculty ratio is 19:1. ACADEMIC COLLEGES Its 34 academic departments in six colleges offer 67 undergraduate programs in more than 188 fi elds of study.
