5 W I N T E R 2 0 1 8 ACADEMICS Dear STVM Community, e are in the midst of another great school year – things have gotten off to an excellent start, and we are now in the third quarter of the year and going strong. I want to thank all the faculty, staff, students, alumni, parents and community members for the strong support I have received upon becoming Principal. I have never enjoyed my job more, and I have never felt that I was making as much of a difference in our school community and the wider world as I do now! I can tell you from personal experience that this touch, this influence, is nothing short of amazing. I remember giving the commencement speech at my own graduation from STVM in 2003. e theme of my speech was how STVM and our graduating class specifically would create positive "shocks" of energy throughout the world, truly making a difference. Looking at the members of my own class and at so many of our alumni from different classes – from St. Mary and St. Vincent high schools all the way to students who just graduated a year or two ago – these positive effects of our graduates and how they have touched the globe is part of what makes me so proud to be leading our school. e strong education that enables our students to leave their mark on our globe is not possible without your support. We here at STVM are doing everything we can to ensure that our young men and women are well educated, well rounded and well prepared to live productive, successful, Christian lives. I sincerely thank you for the support you provide that helps make this possible. Go Irish! Robert B. Brownfield VM03 Principal W S
