After finishing in last place in the WCHA and losing to Wisconsin in the first round of the playoffs last year, the Mavericks hosted the Bad- gers Sept. 28-29, shocking be just as entertaining. With the two having played each other so recently, UW and MSU know each other's ten- dencies fairly well, and neither side has had much time to make drastic changes to their systems. Also, the Mavericks are coming into Madison having been swept by Mercyhurst last week, while the Bad- gers are starting to make LaBahn Arena feel like home after sweeping New Hampshire.
