The Cardinal also claimed the Pac-12 Tournament title, its sixth-straight postseason crown. CALIFORNIA made a return trip to the "Big Dance" after a three-year absence, advancing to the second round. Five more teams participated in postseason action, with ARIZONA STATE, COLORADO, OREGON STATE, UTAH and WASHINGTON each earning bids to the WNIT. The Buffs and Huskies both advanced the furthest, reaching the quarterfinals. Pac-12 teams posted a 12-4 postseason record in games versus non-conference opponents. PLAYER OF THE YEAR Nnemkadi Ogwumike Stanford FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR Jazmine Davis Washington Stanford SR F Nnemkadi Ogwumike capped a successful collegiate career and was a unanimous All-American, receiving nods from the Associated Press, USBWA and WBCA. In addition, Ogwumike was selected the No. 1 overall pick by the Los Angeles Sparks in the WNBA Draft, becoming only the second player in the history of the Conference to be picked No. 1 and the first since 1997. Ogwumike was voted the Pac-12 Player of the Year for the second time in her career. Her younger sister, SO F Chiney Ogwumike, was also an All-American and was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year. Pac-12 Freshman of the Year honors went to UW's Jazmine Davis, the first Husky to earn the postseason honor in 24 years. UTAH's Michelle Plouffe and ARIZONA's Davellyn Whyte garnered Honorable Mention Associated Press All-America nods, as well. After being enshrined in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame last simmer, Tara VanDerveer was named the John R. Wooden Coach of the Year for the 12th time in 26 years at the helm.
