COMMUNITY The Terriers spend much of their time being active in the community. Besides hosting an annual "Skating Strides against Breast Cancer" fundraiser, they also host clinics, connect with children after home games and participate in the BU Athletic Department's holiday reading program. Last year, the team also volunteered with the Special Olympics and participated in the "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk. THIS IS BU ice hockey BUILDING A PROGRAM June 3, 2004 ..................... Brian Durocher named program's first head coach WORLD CLASS TALENT Since its inception, the women's ice hockey program has been able to recruit and develop world-class athletes. This past April, junior Marie-Philip Poulin (left) and recent graduates Jenn Wakefield ('12) and Catherine Ward ('11) each won a gold medal with Team Canada at the International Ice Hockey Federation Women's World Championship. In August, newcomers Shannon Doyle and Sarah Lefort joined Poulin and senior Isabel Menard on Canada's U22 team during a three-game series against Team USA. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, Ward and Poulin captured the gold medal in Vancouver, with Poulin scoring both of Canada's goals in the gold-medal game. This past season, seven members were named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team, including Kasey Boucher (left), who received "Distinguished Scholar" status. Boucher was also one of 10 BU student-athletes to earn a Scarlet Key, which is one of BU's highest academic honors. In 2010, Jenn Arms graduated as a two-time Hockey East Top Scholar-Athlete and achieved a 4.0 grade point average her senior season. 2012-13 PREVIEW SCHEDULE/RESULTS
