THIS WEEK IN BADGER HISTORY QB John Stocco surprised Michigan when he tucked and ran for the game-winning TD. September 24, 2005 Just in the nick of time Wisconsin edged No. 14 Michigan as QB John Stocco's 4-yard TD run with 24 seconds left gave the Badgers a 23-20 win at Camp Randall Stadium. RB Brian Calhoun rushed for 155 yards on 35 carries while also recording a TD. The win snapped Michigan's 23-game win streak in Big Ten openers, while Wisconsin claimed its ninth-straight home win. ALSO THIS WEEK September 20, 1969 NO STOPPING THE TRAIN: Running back Alan "A Train" Thompson rushed for a then-school record 220 yards on 33 carries in his collegiate debut against No. 6 Okla- homa. September 21, 1974 RETURN TO SENDER Selvie Washington set the Badgers' single-game kickoff return record with a 42.7-yard average in UW's 21-20 upset of No. 4 Nebraska.
