50 VIRGINIA RUSH IS MOVED AND SPEECHLESS OVER OUR REACH COLLECTION DRIVE FINAL RESULTS, EXCITED FOR UPCOMING SEASONS AND TRAVEL AND PROUD OF OUR ALUMNI TRAVIS BRENT AND COACH CHRIS P! Back in August, Virginia Rush collected over 1,000 pieces of gear/ equipment during our 1st Annual REACH Friendlies Event, all of which was shipped to Liberia Rush. Recently we FINALLY got to see that equipment in use by members of Liberia Rush. Seeing the photos really put into perspective what we accomplished. The success of this event and donation is 100% due to an amazing Club Staff, a Booster Club that goes above and beyond, all of our amazing players and families and also to our national counterparts who aided in getting the equipment where it needed to be. Being able to SEE the final stage of the process makes everyone amped and ready to do it all over again! We are shaking off winter, ending another successful Winter Futsal League Season and looking forward to successful Spring League Seasons and upcoming Summer Travel. Virginia Rush has three teams heading to the 2017 NPL Finals, our 17-U Boys, 16-U Girls and 15-U Boys. We also have three teams heading to the 2017 President's Cup Regionals; 17-U Girls, 17-U Boys and 13-U Girls. Virginia Rush is also proud and excited for VAR Alumni, Travis Brent, who signed with the Harrisburg City Islanders! Travis's hard work, dedication and success are truly evident and are paying off! We are happy to boast that he is from VIRGINIA RUSH! We wish Travis a suc- cessful season with his new team! Speaking of PROUD… Chris Panayiotou, Rush Soccer's Developmental Technical Director and the Developmental Director of Coaching at Virginia Rush, has been recognized as one of 50 winners nationwide of the 2017 Double-Goal Coach Award and was named the Virginia Youth Soccer Association (VYSA) Boys Recreational Coach of the Year.
