THIS IS BU SOCCER WINNING TRADITION Since making its first of 14 NCAA tournament appearances in 1980, the BU men's soccer team has developed a strong winning tradition. Having won at least 10 games in 18 of Coach Roberts' 27 seasons, the Terriers are 11-time America East regular season champions and victors of seven conference tournaments. Ranked as high as No. 1 in 1994, BU has defeated at least one ranked squad in each of the last three seasons, including then-No. 1 St. John's and No. 12 Connecticut in 2009. Besides achieving success on the field, BU men's soccer has also performed well in the ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT classroom with two Terriers earning Capital One/CoSIDA Academic All-America honors over the past four years. In 2011, 12 student-athletes were named to the America East Honor Roll, and two of them earned Commissioner's Honor Roll status for posting a GPA of 3.5 or greater. The Terriers pride themselves in being COMMUNITY valuable contributors to society. Besides hosting clinics and connecting with children after home games, the team also participates in the BU Athletic Department's Holiday Reading program. Entering his 28th season as the head coach of the BU men's soccer team, Neil Roberts first joined NEIL ROBERTS the program as an assistant in 1979. Since he was promoted in 1985, the Terriers have registered only one losing season.
