MAKE A GIFT Five things you can do to support Wisconsin Athletics: 1. Consider making a gift to the annual fund to support Badger student-athletes 2. Increase your annual fund gift to the next level 3. Purchase a suite or a club seat at Camp Randall or the Kohl Center 4. Make a gift to a capital project such as the Student-Athlete Performance Center 5. Establish an endowed fund to help support Wisconsin Athletics in perpetuity Cash Contributions Contributions of cash, checks made payable to the UWF–Athletics, or charges to American Express, Discover, MasterCard, and Visa are accepted. Contributions can be made online at UWBadgers.com, by mail, by phone or in person. Gifts of Securities Stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc., are accepted. Matching Gifts As a donor to Wisconsin Athletics, you can increase your level of giving by combining your contribution with the matching funds from your employer. If your company will match gifts to UW Athletics, please enclose your company's form with your contribution. Gifts-in-Kind Gifts of service or items (food and beverage, athletic equipment, printing, and air travel, etc.) that would normally be purchased by the UW Athletic Department are considered gifts-in-kind, and are always appreciated. Subject to university approval and IRS regulations, the value of the contribution is credited to your account. Tax Information All contributions to Wisconsin Athletics are considered gifts to the University of Wisconsin and are credited at full value for purposes of the donor's gift record at the University of Wisconsin Foundation. A contribution that entitles the donor to purchase tickets is 80 percent deductible as a charitable contribu- tion for income tax purposes, according to IRS Code, Section 170(l). Consult your tax advisor for more information. In addition, the IRS has ruled the 80 percent portion of your contribution is only tax deductible to the extent that it exceeds the value of any additional benefits you receive. Individuals making contributions will have their gift processed and tax receipt issued within two weeks from the UW Foundation. Waiver of Benefits For 100 percent tax deductibility of your contribution, you must decline your right to receive any benefits at the time you make your contribution. Note: Contributions received in the Wisconsin Athletic Development Office are processed upon receipt. Contributions made for priority seating benefits will be credited to the ticket holder of record.
